Detailed Itinerary
Take morning flight to Pokhara. Drive to Kande directly from the airport. We will stop in between for tea/coffee and second breakfast if needed. Once we get off the car, we will hike for 2 hours to get to our night stop in Pothana. However, we will stop at Australian Camp for lunch, which is only 30 minutes before Pothana. Lunch stop has amazing mountain view.
The trail from Pothana to Landruk is all beautiful, mostly downhill. We will stop for lunch at Tolkha. We like our lunch stop at Tolkha to a extent that durung the fall of 2025, one of our group decided to call it a day and spend overnight here. Next day to Jhinu Danda wasn't too bad.
After breakfast, we start walking through the Gurung village with stone roofs, followed by terraced paddy fields, then Uttis (Alnus Nepalensis) forest and finally cross a river called Modi Khola. This is the main river that originates from the south and eastern glaciers of Annapurna Massif. We will be in Jhinu Danda for lunch. In the evening, we will walk to the famous hot-spring outside of the village and spend some time in the manmade pools right next to the Modi river.
Today is going to be a short and a steep uphill hike, all the way to the village of Chhomrong. Relax and walk around the village after checkin and lunch. This is the closest view of Annapurna Massif from here on this trip. On this right, you will be able to see towering Machhapuchhre Himal.
Today is going to be the longest day on this trip. All the right muscles that you have strengthened walking up-hill and down-hill during the last few days will come handy today. Our groups love this family run hotel in Ghandruk. Dal-Bhat set is one their favorites. Ghandruk is the largest Gurung Village in this region. Walking through old stone paths with stone houses that has stone roof, evokes a profound sense of timelessness and grounding.
In the morning after tea/coffee, we will walk to the cultural museum and the town of Ghandruk. Back to the hotel for breakfast and walk to the Jeep stand where your car will be waiting to take you to Pokhara. In Pokhara, you are free to indulge in activities that makes you happy. Depending on your return flight back home, you can stay multiple days in and around Pokhara. There are tons of activities that you can do here.
You will spend most of the morning in Pokhara and then take a 30 minutes mid-day/early afternoon flight to Kathmandu. Rest of the day is for you to decide, once checked into the hotel. We will meet for the last-supper tonight.
